The Healthiest Meal of the Day.
I can only speak from experience when it comes to Shakeology… my own experiences and the experience of watching what it has done for others. Shakeology nutrition has opened doors for me that I didn’t realize possible.
Here’s my story… In October of 2011 I was hitting a wall in my life. Physically, I didn’t look or feel my best. I had put on some weight, felt terribly sluggish, was getting sick regularly, and felt as though I was not metabolizing or digesting things properly. Mentally I was following suit. I lacked motivation, clarity of mind and that typical lust for life that I had when I was feeling better.
I suppose “rock bottom” in this scenario came in the form of taking naps in my car at lunchtime during the week. Not some my proudest moments, but a wake up call (pun intended) nonetheless. I was the most desperate for energy, above all else, because this was a spiral for me. No energy meant no working out and no working out meant probably not eating great.
Finally I was ready to make a change. I caught wind of Shakeology nutrition through the yoga instructor at the studio I was “infrequenting” at the time and he swore by this nutritional shake and how it used to cleanse the body. The skeptic in me shut him down rather quickly, went home, and researched it. Go ahead, I challenge you to find the negatives of Shakeology. There are none. So I decided to give it a try for one month – more so I could shove in this guys face how it didn’t work for me. Little did I know how much it would.
Now keep in mind, Shakeology does not contain a single stimulant. You don’t drink it and get this false feeling of energy that leaves you crashing hours later. The difference is in the nutrients. Over 70 super foods, vitamins and minerals that your body wasn’t getting are now satiating that need for nutrition through one shake a day.
Immediately, I started to notice a difference in my digestion. I wasn’t feeling overly full after eating, I was staying comfortably full longer after the shake and other meals, and I felt like I was finally back on track in terms of my metabolism. Within a few days, that urge to nap was dissipating. After a week, it was gone and this incredible feeling of level, stable and sustainable energy was starting to emerge. I was starting to feel good. I had energy to work out, clarity of mind because I was no longer dragging through my days and I was happier because of it. And then started the weight loss. A wonderful bonus of it all! The best part was, after one month in I looked at my budget and saw that I was saving $150-$180 per month because I was not longer getting daily coffees or tea that cost $3-$5 a pop, I didn’t need a multivitamin, I was able to buy less at the grocery store in terms of fruits and veggies because I was getting them all in my shakes, and I wasn’t going out and spending $10 a day on expensive lunches. The shakes cost less than $4 a day and to get all of the nutrients, fruits and veggies you get in one shake, you would have to spend over $50!
I have taken Shakeology every day for a few years now, and this will be a part of my routine until I croak (which probably won’t be until I’m 250 with all the nutrients I’m getting!) After having such wonderful results, I started P90X, a fitness program that helped me get more long and lean, lose inches and tighten up. I realized that the key to the health I wanted was Shakeology and fitness. After having such success in with both programs (50 pounds, gone!), I started to share these products with family and friends. I couldn’t get over how rewarding it was to see the people who mean the most to me in my life lose weight they have been fighting against for decades, lower dosages of medications or come off of them completely, fit into that pair of acid wash jeans that they should have retired back in the 80’s, or most importantly… find their smile again.

Makin’ Your Shake: How to mix up your Shakeology!
There are a lot of different ways that you can mix up your shake. Luckily for you, when you purchase your shake, you will receive a calendar of recipe ideas for each day of the month!
Here are a few suggestions. Personally, I make it both blended and shaken. I throw it in a shaker with ice and water when I’m on the go. It’s still great! But if you want a real treat, take a minute to blend it.
- 12-15oz of water
- One scoop of Shakeology
- 15-20oz oz of water, milk or almond milk
- One scoop of Shakeology
- Try a frozen or regular banana (goes great in chocolate or strawberry)
- If you are having chocolate, a scoop of peanut butter makes it amazing!
- I also add a little cinnamon to my chocolate shake
- With the strawberry, I will add some frozen fruits!
